A quick and easy, hearty chili for cold days and sporting events. Add your favorite toppings and enjoy.

Ingredients | Cornerstone Berkeley Events

3 pounds ground beef

2 yellow onions, diced

6 jalapeno peppers, diced

2 habanero peppers, diced (wear gloves) (Optional)

1 teaspoon minced garlic

3 (15 ounce) cans chili beans

3 (15 ounce) cans diced tomatoes

1 (15 ounce) can water

3 tablespoons hot chili powder

1 tablespoon ground cumin

Directions

Heat a large soup pot over medium-high heat. Cook and stir beef in the pot until browned and crumbly, 5 to 7 minutes; drain and discard grease.

Cook and stir onions, jalapeno peppers, habanero peppers, and garlic with the ground beef until onions are slightly softened, about 5 minutes. Add chili beans, tomatoes, water, chili powder, and cumin; bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer until flavors blend, about 1 hour.
